Lay summary
Infectious diseases are challenging risks for the human race as individuals and for the society as a unity. In the blood test, why do different people have differential presence and levels of various infectious disease antigens? What role does genetic polymorphism play in this complex antigen spectrum? Benefiting from UK Biobank project datasets, we aim to apply a GWAS on the genetic associations between any SNP loci for various infectious disease antigens, thus making efforts in the understanding of the genetic makeup of the antigen diversity among the natural population and meanwhile also contributing in screening and mapping novel biomarkers for the fight against such infectious diseases.
