Frailty and sarcopenia in longterm cancer survivors with and without cardiovascular diseases

Principal Investigator: Dr Tu Nguyen
Approved Research ID: 103957

Lay summary

With longer life expectancies, the burden of cancer and cardiovascular disease is expected to increase significantly. Older individuals with these conditions are more likely to experience frailty, sarcopenia, and other health issues. These conditions can lead to adverse health outcomes, such as major cardiac events, cardiovascular mortality, and all-cause mortality, among long-term cancer survivors.

This research project, which will span three years, aims to provide evidence on the impact of frailty and sarcopenia in long-term cancer survivors with and without cardiovascular disease. The findings from this study will help guide medical professionals in providing better care for this population.
