Approved Research

Assessing the covariation between general cognitive ability and other phenotypes

Principal Investigator: Professor Franck Ramus
Approved Research ID: 46007
Approval date: June 11th 2020

Lay summary

We will first examine the extent to which phenotypes depend on sex and age. We will then examine the relationships between phenotypes, with sex and age controlled. In particular, we will assess the covariation between general cognitive ability and other phenotypes, with a special interest in whether high IQ might be a risk (or protective) factor for other phenotypes. We will also consider somatic diseases, insofar as they may be associated with our phenotypes of interest. These covariations will then be taken into account when examining the relationship between phenotypes and neuroanatomical markers.
